It is a room in Blundell’s Buildings in Blackpool where the group used to rehearse. The cells are at the far end, they were used by the RAF in WW2 for AWOL prisoners. At the very back you can see a mixed media piece I had been working on (sadly now destroyed). At the far right you can see a small black box with Sec 25 written on it. This was a lighting box used by the group. It’s made up of several pictures put together, a composite.

Another composite I did whilst on holiday near Nottingham. We were in a campervan and we parked up overnight in Sherwood Forest.

In the middle you can see a toilet. This leads through to the room where Section 25 used to practice and where we recorded The Key of Dreams. The room we had was not quite as bad as this one!

5, 6, 7 and 8 are called Savage Interior, I, II, III. It was a workshop of a French polisher and after 70 years in business he had to move out. I don’t think he ever really cleaned up all the time he was there, or his predecessors come to that! I like the rich variety of colour and texture in them.

These two are a pair, they are two sculptures I made just after leaving Art College. The wood is mahogany the other materials are plaster, wax and plastic. The white figure has all this wax coming out of its head as if it were searching for this new image.
